Piano concertos for the left hand. (Ravel’s and Prokofiev’s are probably the most popular… haven’t heard the others, going to look them up in iTunes later!)
Graduate school: how much debt it is worth?
Affluence: How much is enough?
Sabbath. Want to be more intentional about observing it, to be obedient in giving God control over all aspects of my life, to truly experience rest in the Lord and see: that I am, first and foremost, a child of God. That I am free to NOT be defined by the world’s demands and my reactions to them, my job, level of productivity/busyness, or anything else I do, really. That when it comes down to it, I am His, and God’s love, grace, and mercy cannot be earned. Sabbath is a gift.
Eggplant. I made a sausage/eggplant lasagna for dinner last night. The problem is, I have no one to eat it with me, because my meat-eating friends hate eggplant, and my eggplant-eating friends are vegetarian. So guess what I’m going to be eating for the next week?
I do sympathize with my meat-eating friends… I distinctly remember my first encounter with eggplant. I was in elementary school and thought my mom had made us slugs for dinner. I don’t think I touched it that day. But now eggplant is one of my favorite foods!

Joe - April 1st, 2008 at 6:09 pmlol, eggplant. Perhaps it’s an acquired taste? I’ve had eggplant with oil before, and can’t take it any other way (it slides down the throat easier…
).
